Stuart Mark Berlin is a retired pediatrician, an author with four books on Amazon Kindle, and a Fauvist Painter in oil paint.

What always affected me the most looking at museum paintings was the tension between seeing colors up close and the images that appear at distance. Color is determined by adjacent colors. My goal is to make colors pop.

My signature is the Hebrew letters spelling Asherah , the Ancient Hebrew Goddess. Nature Creation Love and Bliss expressed in pigment.

Art that lives beyond the canvas:

What can that possibly mean? Pigment , oil and canvas are inanimate. When I paint I choose a composition and draw it in pencil. Next I brush linseed oil on top of the pencil marks. Then I listen to the painting as it is becoming and
put the colors that I hear the painting request.

I paint without my glasses very close to the canvas. I go into trance. I step away and see unintended images inside the intended composition.

Because I have pareidolia many times those images are faces. I receive messages from my unconscious mind this way.

Different people see different images as their unconscious minds have different things to say.

In my opinion a painting that brings communication between conscious and unconscious minds is alive.
